God is the giver of good and perfect gifts, and He gives such gifts liberally to all of His children (James 1:17). One of the gifts He gives to all of us in equal measure is the gift of time – 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week, 52 weeks in a year. For everyone!
Because He knows all of our days (Psalm 139) and He knows the plans He has for us in each day (Jer. 29:11), we know that He will never plan more for us in a moment of time, a day, a week or a year, than we can actually accomplish!
Why then does it seem that there are more things in a day, than that day allows for? Or we find ourselves rushing from one thing to the next, our list of “to do’s” that didn’t get done run through our mind to be placed on the next day’s list, as we fall into bed at night exhausted.
Since we are made in His image, fashioned according to His likeness and He does everything from a place of peace and rest, it may be good from time to time to step out of the busyness and into His grace, and see what He really has in store for us - in time!
Daily He loads benefits onto us, not busyness!
One of our team members had a sense to focus on praying in this area of time. She included in her July client report excerpts from an excellent teaching by Arthur Burk (Sapphire Leadership Group, www.theslg.com) on the cycles and seasons of time.
In the report she shares how Arthur speaks of the importance of each person finding their own God given responses to time, saying that as we do we will find ourselves getting much more done in a small period of time, and we will have much more “flow” with the things we do.
Jen said, “It was a great teaching and you could just feel the lights coming on, so to speak, for so many people as he spoke, because so often we are bound by society's time and we don't give ourselves the freedom to work with time the way God has created us each individually. He says that when we find our "cadence" for time that things will flow in incredible ways, we will get so much more done and what we do get done will be done by the inspiration and life of God because He flows through us during those times. Very interesting indeed!!”
Jen went on to include in her reports the following teaching notes:
This month I prayed in regards to your “time”. I recently heard Arthur Burk speak on “time” and the truths he shared brought great freedom to me personally. I felt the Lord highlight them when praying for you as well.
In a nutshell he says that there are three God given responses to time: Linear, Cyclical and Pulse. We will operate best in one of these three and it is our job to figure out how God has wired us and work with Him in regards to time. As we do we will find ourselves getting much more done in a small period of time and we will have much more “flow” with the things we do.
Linear: People who can be whatever they are needed to be, whenever they are needed. They are available and ready to step into a task anytime and do it well. Operate pretty much the same whether it is morning, noon or night.
Cyclical: People who “hit their pace” at certain times of the day. I.e.: morning people or nighthawks. The life of God flows through them at certain times of the day. This is the design of God upon their lives. To the degree that we fight this design we diminish the life of God from flowing through us. For example, many of us have learned to do our devotions first thing in the morning, but if God has wired you to be most alert and sensitive at night you will not have as much of the flow of God if you continue to do it in the morning, even though you are a night person. Also, with work…if our best hours are in the afternoon we need to arrange our schedules to do the most important things at that time while we are in the flow of God. Do our best work for God in the time that we thrive- know our cadence.
Pulse: These are often the creative/artistic types. They get sudden bursts of energy and creativity in random fashion. Accomplish much in a short period of time when they get the ‘creative pulse’. They ‘pulse’ on God’s time, not society’s time.
As well he talked about Annual Cycles that we all have and need to be aware of. He said that his “New Year” always begin the first of December. His season to rest is always July and then he has seasons where there is an anointing to travel, one to write, etc. He has become aware of how God has wired him for time and for seasons.
He says, “We need to have faith that there will be grace to get the things done that we need to get done. God will meet our needs when we synchronize our time with Him. He will weave together grace with our responsibilities.”
Jen prayed this for her clients that they would become more and more aware of how God has wired them so that they can redeem the time and continually enter more fully into the flow of God.
She prayed that Holy Spirit would show them how to synchronize their time with Him so that they were not racing the clock each day or finishing the day with many tasks left to do.
She prayed blessings over their time and asked that they would become more and more aware of what times they thrive and are most sensitive to God.
She prayed that He would also highlight any possible “annual cycles” so that they could enter into a greater flow and greater fulfillment.
She spent time blessing their time; blessing their seasons and blessing the ways that God has wired them.
It is our great joy to add our prayers of agreement to Jen’s and to release these prayers over all of you as well! We pray that you would become aware of how God has wired you, so that you can redeem the time and continually enter more fully into the flow of God. That Holy Spirit would show you how to synchronize your time with Him so that you are not racing the clock each day or finishing the day with many tasks left to do.
We pray blessings over your time, seasons and cycles, and great blessings in the unique and wonderful way He has wired you to function in time and in His ways!
Yes Lord – let it be so!
In addition to meeting with the Lord, and praying specifically for you, we also love to meet together as a team. In our last team meeting we had the great joy of being led by one of our valued team members into a deeper and richer revelation and understanding of the grace of God available for us all.
Abby taught us so powerfully about the freedom we have in Christ, the new life He obtained for us through His death and resurrection, and the absolute joy it is to live in Christ and in the freedom and fullness of all that really means.
At the end of her teaching time as Abby prayed for us to walk in this revelation in a greater measure, as she prayed for us all to enter into this “jaw dropping money under your pillow, impossible things, possible kind of life” she also felt a strong release to pray in the area of time.
Abby’s prayers, as well as the teachings of Arthur Burk that Jen submitted and the prayers she released, were the inspiration for this month’s blog and our deepest hearts cry for you.
The decrees that Abby made were for our whole team and for you! We pray that these declarations and all the words of wisdom and encouragement would be a great blessings to you this month.
Abby’s powerful prayers and decrees:
“Father today we take control over our schedules and over the time that You have given us. We pray that we would get 10 hours of work done in 2 hours as we call forth for miracles of time.
We declare deliverance from the stronghold of stress and busyness, feeling that the clock is always behind us, pushing us to something that there is never enough time for. We break off busyness and that sense that there is never enough time, and declare that our time would be set by the Lord and that we have all the time we need in a day to do everything that You have called us to do.
Where we have found importance in busyness, or use it an excuse in any way, we walk away from that today, and walk into the peace and rest that comes in walking in grace with You.
We declare that we will enjoy every minute, totally relaxed but more fruitful than ever, getting more done than ever before. We will enjoy every minute of it, instead of feeling weighted down.
We pray that people would receive a miraculous enablement of skills, gifts and abilities that we never had before that will allow us to do what needs to be done – cooking, language, relationship skills, time management, any kind of skill needed in any kind of situation to allow the process to go smoothly and with ease.
We pray that our minds would be renewed, that we would interpret dreams, have visions and words of knowledge, and that we would all come immediately into the fullness of the Life in Christ that is so awesome!
We thank You Lord for all that you have done, for the great cost that You have paid, so that we could enter this abundant life, life in the grace You have obtained for us, and be free!”
We thank God for it all, and we thank God for you! We pray as Abby prayed - that we would all come into the fullness of all that He has for us – and as Jen and Abby and Arthur have shown us to be possible - in the exact right time and way!
