Christmas month, no matter what else is going on around us, has a way of bringing hope. Days seem pregnant with possibilities - as if all that is wrong can be made right, that light will dispel the darkness, and love with cover all, and heal. Because He came, it does.
This week as I was walking and praying for you, I had a picture of the Lord, His heart filled with love for you, compassion and understanding for where you are right now, the questions on your heart, the burdens you are carrying, the concerns that creep up and want to weigh you down, and He was drawing near.
Even as He came, His peace came with Him. And light, hope and joy. He had gifts carefully wrapped to present in just the right way – for some He came quietly and left them where they could be discovered at just the right time. For others it was an invitation to join Him in a quiet place away, for something special He wanted to impart, to share.
Each gift was as unique as the person and the circumstance. For some it was hope deferred that had made your heart sick, and here He stood, package in hand, with the words of life that would bring such hope and change everything.
For others it was answers to prayers long since prayed, wrapped up all together, and transformed by His hands of love, into the answers you have been longing to hear. Answers that were above and beyond, as only He can do.
For others it was a heart’s desire, not yet spoken, as it was so new and fresh. He was laughing with you, as you opened the gift to say, “Yes, the Father gives His yes” and I knew that all of heaven would be a part of seeing that gift come to pass.
For others it was healing, it was hope. There were keys of revelation – understanding for the times ahead. The very thing you had been asking for.
For some, it was the gift of time – more time with Him, which would bring more time for all that you desired to do. The gift was rolled, like a new calendar and He was handing you the pen. “What would you like to put on there?” He seemed to be saying, and He would make it so.
I saw for some, and felt particularly this was for those involved in financial markets or working in the financial realm, a “Paul Bunyan” axe resting in a log, waiting to be picked up. Paul Bunyan, as you may know, is a folk hero that represented one who was a pioneer, able to overcome obstacles and prepare the way. I felt that this represented an invitation to follow the Lord, to pioneer and to forge a way through all the brambles and bushes of next year. To make a path for others to follow. It seemed an important and significant invitation.
For some it was scroll – wrapped in bright red ribbon, like a graduation certificate. “Well done”, He was saying. “The Father knows if has been a difficult year, but much was given to you, and you were faithful with it all. Now the more is yours, and it will be easier now, than ever before. Your faithfulness to Him, has unlocked His faithfulness to you in unprecedented ways. You have been granted the keys to heaven’s provision. To learn of and know His ways.”
For one, He knelt down, on one knee and offered up the gift. It was small and simple but He held it with such delight, it was the look in His eyes as He extended His hand that caused your heart to leap within. When the box was opened and the lid lifted, there was one single diamond ring, simple, beautiful, elegant - “Be Mine” He said, with eyes of love and a heart of hope, “And we will change the world”.
I know that there was something for everyone, and not just for Christmas but gifts of love, from His heart to you, for all the year through!
For all that is in His heart of love for you, the gift He is, and the gifts that He is giving, we celebrate with you, and rejoice that it will be so.
We wish you deeper revelation and understanding of His great love for you, the future and the hope that are yours in Him, because of Christmas Day.
And peace, His peace, for all your days – we pray.
